Reasons For Not Growing Weed

Picture
Many people do not know it, but growing weed at home reduces the value of the property on which these are grown as well as the neighboring properties. A neighborhood filled with thugs will not attract families and other decent people to settle down on, since having growing operations will surely benefit those who are running an organized crime. It has found out by the Organized Crime Agency of British Columbia distribution and growing weed is the majority of the organized crime in British Columbia. You may be living next to one. This area is also known for BC, Bud, one of the most popular varieties of weed.

In British Columbia alone, growing weed amounts to five percent of the GDP of Canada. This is more than the combination of the industries of logging and local mining. In 2004 alone, thousands of laboratories for growing weed were discovered which were worth billions. But only ten percent of these were busted by the police in British Columbia.

Whether there is legalization for growing weed or not, there is great money for Canada since these are exported to the United States. Locally, each pound of weed grown in British Columbia costs CAD $2500. In Seattle, this same amount of weed costs CAD $7,500. This is recognized by the organized crime behind that. And because of the market value, this problem is getting even bigger. This is affecting the industry of local residential real estates, increasingly.

In many cases, growing weed causes structural damage which is irreversible. These establishments are only rented by growers for months and are then abandoned. The owner would be dismayed to find out that there are holes on the walls used as vents. The concrete foundations are also damaged since most of these are rewired to tap on electricity. High humidity level may also be present because of the use of high powered lamps to give light to the plants. Chemicals which are used to grow weed faster cause even more structural damage and the development of "black mould". And since growing weed indoors requires a lot more electricity compared to any ordinary residential space, there is a higher risk of contracting fire. Illegal electrical tapping may also pose risks on the safety for those who are living inside the structure and the neighboring buildings as well.

Aside from damage to property, growing weed in large or small scale may also be harmful for the health of the people. There are high concentrations of carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide in the area, aside from the presence of the black mold. And worse, these are located in urban areas, where lots of people are affected.
